Yossi Sagi
Glass Fusing ArtistA story born from discipline, patience, and light. After a long career as a photographer and editor, Yossi Sagi found his new home next to the glass kiln. His creations, fired in deep layers at extreme temperatures, are the result of months of delicate and prolonged work – puzzle pieces cut by hand and transformed into vibrant and inspiring images.
Art born of fire, patience, and light
Yossi Sagie's encounter with the world of glass was entirely coincidental, born from the fascinating combination of a camera lens and the heat of a kiln. As part of his work producing documentary films for the Caesarea community, he arrived to film a local glass artist in her studio. The moment the camera turned off, he realized he had found his new passion: a week later, he was already standing by the kiln, and ever since, for 14 years, he has not stopped exploring the boundaries of material and light.
"I am drawn to the most precise work - from delicate hand-cutting to understanding the essence of the material. What ultimately connects me to glass is the result: when I see a finished, striking and exciting image that speaks not only to me but also to other people, I know that this is exactly what I love to do."
